How will we do?Just a general question for members on how they think The Bees will fare in 2008.My own personal feeling is a play-off place which i would be happy with.Anything from there on would be a bonus for me & at that point who knows what's possible.
Glad to see a few more of you joining like myself.Have fun.

Hi there KingBoeyboyCC!!! I reckon a playoff spot is a very realistic target this yer, largely depends IMO on whather the reserves can hit the ground running, and whether Bomber can win enough heat ones and fifteens. By the way, the ad below just appeared and is nothing to do with me, nor will any others be!

Have to agree with the opinions so far, anything short of a play-ff in the EL will be a let down.
Feel Bees have a good chance in the CS and KOC and would hope to reach at least one final this year.

I think the Bees will do just fine and will be up there in the play-offs again.
I'm really looking forward to the new season and am perhaps one of the few who think the points limit was correct to make the league more even this year.
If that is the price we have to pay to get rid of some of the highly paid foreigners who the promotions can't afford and certain riders who mess their teams about by supposedly being injured but still riding abroad then so be it.

While I agree that the league can do without the sicknote brigade, I still think the limit was too low. In my opinion it was more a matter of bringing everyone down to the level of the promotions who have not got the ambition or possibly the support to aspire to better things. You don't get regulation in other sports to bring teams down a level, it is left to the weaker teams to aspire to build themselves up to compete with the big boys. We all have our own opinions on this matter, and I respect yours, but I just don't to agree with you.

Yes but no other sport is like speedway so you can't compare them.
I don't see how Belle Vue or Ipswich for example could have got better riders last season because they just aren't around any more and those that are can't be afforded on the attendances these tracks get. Better to have a team they can afford than have the club close down.
Something drastic had to be done to equal the teams up and move the heat leaders around. I was as upset as anyone that we lost Scott but for the good of the sport I'll accept it was necessary.
There you are - you wanted to liven things up on here. And I respect your views too and understand that not many will agree with mine.

I seethat Scott doesn't have the captaincy at Eastbourne & it's been given to Rico.I do wonder if Scott was given the option or not with Hagon being the new promoter & how he feels about that.On the other hand maybe Scott turned it down.

Steve Jones was actually talking to us on the subject on Tuesday so i'm sure it will be in his list of "to ask" questions.

Hi
do you think Rory may do better at n#1 as he is the better gater of the three heat leaders ?

Gemini

Yes I think Rory will be better at No.1 as like you say he is a much better gater than Chris and we need someone to get out of the traps and give us a good start to boost the moral of the team for the rest of the match.
